I have to say this week flew by, probably cause I was riding a stress wave all week trying to get all my work crap done so that I could be OFF TODAY!!! YES!!
I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a long time. Scott and I are headed to San Diego for a PERSIAN wedding and I am so excited! I’m biased but I think Persian weddings are the best!!

Let’s get right in to Friday Favorites with Amanda

Weekending Slacker

Yes, I’m posting my Weekender post on a Thursday. Yes, I realize it is pretty much the weekend again (especially since I have tomorrow off!!!), hence the title of today’s post. The weekend was pretty perfect and quite honestly it deserves a photo dump so even though I’m 4 days late. I mean in all honesty, I’m pretty sure most people just want to see the pictures, amiright? Here is the wonderfulness that was our weekend in Tahoe.

These lovebirds…

And this little angel stopped by with her parents! Cutenesssssss!!!

Confession Wednesday

I had every intention of posting a weekend photo dump on Monday and Tuesday this week. Sunday night I was dead tired from our fabulous weekend in Tahoe and then this business happened on Monday and Tuesday night. Do you blame me?

Anyone else confessing to watching this and being addicted.
I’ll provide a sufficient Tahoe photo dump tomorrow if you’d like to come back for that.
Another confession for ya. Ever since I moved in with Scott my clothes in my chest of drawers have been “folded” like this
Obviously this is not my photo, I don’t wear 5 year old boy clothes, nor do a I ride a tricycle. I do however take baths with a rubber ducky. Oh and those crocs may or may not be mine, but in turquoise. There was a rumor going around that at one point I might have worn crocs around the house or to the delta. (they gave them to me for free when I worked at Nordstrom).
That sounded like 2 confessions in one didn’t it?
I digress, the point was that I haven’t been folding my clothes lately and every time my mom comes over I make sure those drawers are closed because she would be a) embarrassed that I’m hers and b) pissed.
I also wrote this post at work this morning. Did I have time for this? Absolutely not, but while on a conference call I decided I wanted to confess explain my absence due to my new little obsession with Bachelor in Paradise. Now I’m wondering if anyone is even going to read this because all of us are pretty much early morning blog readers.
Fingers crossed, this wasn’t all for nothing!
Come on back tomorrow for my Tahoe photo dump!
Linking up with Kathy today!

friday

Happy Friday! Linking up with Amanda for our traditional Friday Favorites
{favorite song}I’ve been a fan of Keith Urban for years and I don’t think there has ever been a song that I didn’t like. Right now, this one is my favorite.

I just love him.
{favorite weekend plans}TAHOE!!! With my favorite girls! We are heading up to my cabin this afternoon for a weekend at beautiful Lake Tahoe. I’m so looking forward to some beach time with my girls and our boys! Happiness!

{favorite recipe}Scott and I have started juicing a lot more often and I’m loving the addition of beets to our juices. This week we had two juice dinners, complete with Kale, Spinach, carrots, celery, beets, tomatoes, cucumber and apple. Delicious.

Love the idea of this Currently post on Natalie Blairs site. I’m definitely going to think about making this a monthly post on my little space over here.

Black Pumps: All or Nothing

Alright Ladies, I’ve been on a black pump buying spree lately and now I have 3 pairs of pointy-toe pumps and I can’t decide if I should keep all three or return a pair. Help!!And these are in addition to all the other 2 pairs black pumps I own, granted none of my others are pointy-toe. AND everyone needs a few pairs of black pumps, absolute staple. And since 90% of my shoes are worn to work and black, maybe this isn’t really such a bad thing.
{ONE}
So I already showed you these gems from Banana

Find them here
I pretty much have my heart set on keeping these beauties because they are oh so comfortable. And in a hight pointy-toe heel that is pretty rare.
{TWO}
I found these Jessica Simpson’s at Marshals last week, the day I sprained my wrist trying on shoes. HA! I wasn’t kidding.
Again, these are pretty dang comfortable and at the price, I probably need to keep them too. And the little gold tips are actually pretty hot and could be just the right pop for the right outfit.
{THREE}
A few months back I also bought these. I was on the hunt for ankle strap pumps and I was completely obsessed with finding a pair. I stumbled upon them at Nordstrom Rack and scooped them up. They have been sitting in my closet ever since. And while they are very pretty, I feel like if I haven’t worn them yet, then maybe I don’t need them.
So what do you ladies think, which ones should I keep?

Confessions

I can’t believe I missed my visit to the confessional last week.
Here I am to make up for it this week. Linking up with Kathy!

I stopped drinking alcohol during the week and I drink very lightly on the weekend. I thought I would immediately see at least a few pound drop off. Wrong. Last Saturday night while hanging with my sisters I confessed my obsession with pink lady apples and peanut butter and why I’ve had to cut that “healthy” snack out of my life for a bit.

Why, you ask? Oh because I eat way more peanut butter than apples! No control. I replaced alcohol with peanut butter. No weight loss.

Last week I think I sprained/hyper-extended my wrist. Bet you can’t guess how I did this?
TRYING ON SHOES!
Good Lord, how ridiculous is that. I was either pulling a shoe on or off and I heard a little pop and then pain. No swelling or bruising but there was pain. And here I am almost a week later and I still hurts a little.
I confess, I was never a fan of Birks in the first place so them coming back is not very exciting for me. I mean if Birks are coming back they might as well bring fanny packs back as well…
And you know what, when I was looking for this photo, I saw this one…not half bad.
Ok, last confession. I used to work in the shoe department at Nordstrom during college; yes dangerous business.  I developed some annoyances with people and their shoes. Why can’t people just buy their size?!? Women buy shoes that are too small and then wonder why they have bunions. The other thing that bugs the hell out of me is when you see someone wearing platform sandals and they are sliding so far forward into the front of the shoe that their toes are hanging on for dear life like a claw.
Ok, I feel better.

What’s in your Weekender?

Monday again. Ughh.Monday’s are always hard after a nice weekend. The good news is that we are heading to Tahoe this coming weekend and I cannot wait!!!
Alright let’s recap this weekend with B and Meghan.
Friday night Scott and I headed to the Raiders game. I should preface this by saying that I am a 49er fan and Scott is a Charger fan. This year Scott decided to buy season tickets to sell and make a little money and seeing as how this was a preseason game we thought’d we’d check it out. This evening started off bad. Let me back up a little bit, when the Raiders tickets arrived they game with this clear bag. Scott handed it to me and said “here you go dear.” Uhh, I’m never using that. Well we get to the game and I have my kick around cross body bag on that I take to sporting events and we get to the gate and they tell me I can’t take it in, cause it’s too big and not clear. WHAT?!?!

Mind you all I had in there was my wallet and my phone. And we had taken Bart (local metro) so there was no taking it and putting it in the car. Pissed! That’s why all these people are carrying those dumb clear bags! Then they tell us there is a bag check. We walk over to the bag check and it’s $5 to check my $10 bag (got it old navy years ago). Umm no, I’m not paying $5 for this. Thankfully I brought a jacket so I took my phone and wallet out, rolled up my little fabric bag and put it in the sleeve of my jacket and breezed through security. I kinda felt like this…

I mean seriously, do your local NFL teams have this rule too or is it just this team?!? I mean after seeing the crowd I’m glad they do this. I’m not a hater I swear, but it was a little scary.
I have to say that I’ve never seen so many cops and security in one place and I’ve also never smelled so much “fresh” weed and “freshly smoked” weed in my life. Ridiculous. The Raiders did win and the seats that Scott got are really good but I’d probably be ok to miss the rest of the season. Well except when then play the 49ers but that is where Scott is going to get all his money, so I’ll sacrifice.
I didn’t expect that portion of the weekend to be so long.
Saturday, my bestie/sister came out for a shopping visit. She is dangerous to shop with. She’s very stylish and knows all the best beauty secrets so I was in trouble, granted it actually ended up being just fine.
We stopped off at Sephora where we both picked up some lipstick and liner and this Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation
I’m not a beauty blogger but I think I may do a review of this foundation, would you be interested?
Next stop was Banana Republic. Nicole had a friends and family card which meant 50% off 5 items, I’m regretting the fact that I only got 2 items. Shoes for me and a shirt for Scott. Look at these beauties.
And they are so comfortable! We completed the evening with dinner and drinks with my other (real) sis and then going to her house for some patio of thought time. This is where you sit on the patio, drink champagne, eat good food and talk about life. Sounds pretty perfect right?!
Sunday we did another bike ride down to the Marina followed by drinks and dinner downtown.
How was your weekend?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!Link up with Amanda for some Friday Favorites, and a not so favorite moment that we all shared this week.

{Worst Moment}Robin Williams. I’m so sad about his passing.

It’s so crazy because just this past weekend I was watching Good Will Hunting, which I haven’t seen in years.  My Facebook and Instagram have been taken over by the outpouring of love and remembrance of a man who touched all of our lives. I love all of the quotes and funnies that I see, but the one recurring theme that I see now that I never saw before is the sadness in his eyes. I hate that. I hate that his struggle led him to take his life because the darkness was too dark. My sister posted about this and I can’t help but feel how right she is and its the same reason why I say ‘hello’ and ‘how are you?’ to strangers or offer a smile in passing.

Now onto the favorites of the week.{Favorite Song}Enrique – Bailando. Does anyone not like this song right now?

{Favorite Meal}Scott and I took a bike ride to Lazy Dog and have the food was amazing. We decided to eat off of the Nutritious and Delicious Menu. We had this Chimichuri Mahi Mahi

And this Spicy Thai Chicken Salad
Seriously, you need to run to Lazy Dog if you have one near you. Delicious
{Favorite Workout}
Bike riding with the boyfriend.
Yup, I love that we get out of the house in the evenings and on the weekend and ride to happy hour or dinner or whatever.
Of course I still love my barre workouts, but this is something new for us.

{Favorite Funnies}This conversation between me and Scott

And this gem from Robin
Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Weekending at its Finest!

Happy Tuesday! Ladies, I have to say I had a fantastic weekend. Friday night we celebrated the marriage of one of my best and oldest friends. We’ve been friends since we were babies and family ever since. She and her husband Lucien live in Germany and got married almost a year ago.

We finally got to celebrate them this weekend with a fantastic backyard wedding. I was really bad about taking photos but here are a few.  And of course I could never catch the happy couple together.

Saturday my sister and I went to a family friends Persian party. Folks if you have never been to a proper persian party you are missing out! The food, the music and dancing, the people, all of it is amazing. I had the time of my life dancing the night away. Oh and champagne, don’t forget that.

So. Much. Fun!!
Sunday Scott and I had breakfast with my mom and then decided to take a bike ride downtown for some Sunday Happy Hour. We live the 3 miles from downtown, so it was the perfect bike ride and we both had such a great day together.

Last night I had to say goodbye to my bestie as she is heading back to Germany 😦
We had a nice night sitting by the fire and enjoying the street we grew up on. So many great memories.

Spokane Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!Let’s get right to it, linking up with Amanda for this Friday Favorites Spokane Edition!

As you all know, I had a business trip to Spokane this week and I was freaking out about my flight, but thankfully it was nothing but smooth skies up to Washington. I got in pretty late Tuesday night and went hunting for those falls that I told you weren’t falling. I lied, they were falling, I just couldn’t find them that night. After my meeting the next morning I went out to discover al I could in Spokane. I had roughly 4.5 hours to see it all. Here’s a little photo dump of my adventures; I ended up hitting all of the spots that I shared in this here post. Started with a drive along the river with my country music blasting and my windows down. I’m going to throw in one of my favorite songs on country radio right now.Joe Nichols – Yeah

Then headed to Spokane Falls

Found Anthony’s, a nice little restaurant overlooking the falls for lunch.

Moscow Mule…yum

There were bridges everywhere

Next stop, St. John’s Cathedral. I absolutely love gothic churches. Heaven.

Last stop, Manito Park

And these little ladies, gave me some delicious lemonade.

I have to say that I had a great time exploring the city for the day and thought it was such a beautiful place. If I ever make it back to Spokane, I’m going to make the 1 hour trip to C’oeur D’Alene, Idaho. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it but just didn’t have the time to make the trek.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
